Obituary of George Krall

George Krall, 97, New Florence, passed away January 11, 2024, at Moorehead Place in Indiana.  Born November 30, 1926, in Bolivar the son of the late Steve and Katherine (Zunich) Krall.  Also preceded in death by his wife Charlotte (Howard) Krall of 70 years and grandson Christopher Stutzman.

George is survived by his five children, Karen Neri and husband Elliot, Philadelphia; Donna (Krall) Demitrovic and husband Thomas, Armagh; Georgia Stutzman and husband Ted, Green Bay, WI; Steve Krall and wife Holly, Coral; Troy Krall and wife Carol, Indiana; grandchildren Michael Neri, Douglas Neri, Amy Boyea, Brett Boyea, Nathan Boyea, Mike Stutzman, Dana Powers, Samantha Krall, Matthew Krall, Erin Rice-Petrillo, Nicole Rice and 14 great-grandchildren. 

 

George was a proud WWII Veteran, serving in the Philippines.  He retired from the Bethlehem Steel car ship in Johnstown, and drove various over-the-road trucks, especially his favorite, a 76 cabover Peterbilt for many years.  After retirement, he enjoyed going to McDonalds every morning to meet and chat with old friends and new, displaying his 1940 Ford coupe at many car cruises, enjoying a ice cream at the Dairy Queen every summer evening with his wife Charlotte, and always enjoyed a leisurely drive to anywhere.

 

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence where service will be held 2 PM Monday.  Interment Fort Palmer Cemetery.  Military gravesite honors by Blairsville MilitaryHonor Guard.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bolivar American Legion Post 128, 507 Market St., Bolivar, PA 15923, or veterans’ charity of on choice. 

George’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Moorehead Place and 365 Hospice for the care and compassion provided to George throughout his stay there.
